  1. Upload video - Upload your video from your device or by pasting a video URL link to Kapwing.
  2. Freeze frame your video at 1 second intervals - Freeze frame your video at 1 second intervals by right clicking on the clip in the timeline. Delete the original video layers and adjust the duration of your freeze frames in the Timing menu on the right side.
  3. Create and download - When you’re satisfied with your stop motion video, click “Export Project” and your video will be ready for you to download and share with anyone online.

The faster your video, the less it gives a stop motion feel. The slower it is, the more animated your video will be.

Adjusting the time to take a frame from your video is very important when trying to capture the stop motion style. Having the stop motion tool take a frame from your video every 0.2 seconds will barely make a difference in the footage, whereas taking a frame after every 1 or 1.5 seconds will give you the classic motionless picture effect you’re looking for.
