Facebook Template: Cover Photo, Profile Picture, & Mockup Templates

Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down – over 2.5 billion people use Facebook every month, because it can serve so many purposes for everyday social activity. To get the most out of Facebook, you can use it to give personal updates to friends and family, share photos, videos, and articles, host events, sell items, keep up to date with news, and regularly communicate with friends and groups.

With all this to keep track of, it's a good idea to simplify your Facebook content as much as possible. One way to do this is to use templates for all the types of visual content you want to share on Facebook. This way, no matter what features you use regularly, whether a business page, videos, photo collections, or updated cover photos, you can create your visual Facebook content with ease.

Templates for Facebook Photos and Videos

Profile pictures on Facebook should be perfectly square – an aspect ratio of 1:1. But unless people actually click on your profile picture, it will appear circular. If you want to see how this looks ahead of time, select your photo while you’re in the Studio and drag the “Rounded Corners” slider all the way to the right.

Facebook cover photos have a recommended aspect ratio of 820:312, much wider than most photos online. Make sure you don’t have anything important on the edges – for mobile users, cover photos are cropped on the sides to an aspect ratio of 9:16.

Posting photos and videos on Facebook gives you a lot of flexibility, but there are still some constraints to keep in mind. The maximum width for photos and videos, if you don’t want them to be cropped or padded, is 16:9. The maximum height for photos without cropping is 9:16, and all videos taller than 1:1 have blurred padding added to the sides.

There are lots of reasons to make a mockup of a Facebook profile or business page: you might want to check out what a certain profile & cover photo combo would look like, test out a new example photo set before sharing them with your friends, or brainstorm the appearance of your business page with your social media team. Put all your example photos and text into our custom Facebook mockup template to see what your profile would look like!
