How do you make an animated banner for Discord?

To have an animated server banner for Discord, your server needs to be at Boosting Level 3. Discord supports JPEG, PNG, and GIF files, so you can upload a still banner or an animated banner. The recommended time for your animated banner should be 6 seconds, but the maximum limit is 15 seconds. Either way, make sure your animated banner is under the GIF file size limit of 10MB.

Why can’t I add a Discord banner?

If you can’t add a Discord banner, it’s possible you don’t have Discord Nitro or your server is not at Boosting Level 2. To boost your Discord server up to Level 2, you need 15 boosts from members. Alternatively, you can purchase Discord Nitro where you’ll receive a complimentary 2 server boosts to add towards your server.
